Is coconut water on its way out? Say it ain’t so! It may be true, now that maple water is in the picture.
No, it’s not a fancy way to say “maple syrup-infused water.” You won’t be drinking Mrs. Butterworth’s. But maple water is a lot cooler than you think.
So what is it? Turns out, all it is is maple tree sap, which is the basis for maple syrup. But instead of boiling it down, you can just drink it, since all maple sap is before boiling is just water that a tree has filtered first. Of course, it gets filtered again before it gets to you, but it’s still low-calorie and non-GMO. It’s also packed with 46 nutrients and it’s environmentally friendly—Drink Maple, the distributing company, only takes maple from trees that are fully grown. ##MN_RESP##
But when you think of maple, you think of sticky, sickly sweet, right? Well, that’s not what this is. The sweet, sticky taste we associate with maple comes from our association with maple syrup, which has to have all the water boiled out of it first—the water that’s still in maple water.
And is there a better way to get your water? It comes directly from trees, nothing is added to it before it comes to you, and it has a very light, pleasant maple flavor. Natural, unprocessed, and tasty. Sounds like a good deal to me.
And if we can drink coconut water, which let’s be honest, is an acquired taste, we can certainly give maple water a shot.
Would you try maple water? Why or why not?
