Sohana is a three-year-old girl who lives in India’s Chitrakoot Dham Karwi. She has, for almost her entire life, suffered from tumors growing on her kidneys.
After conducting tests, doctors have determined that she suffers from Wilms Tumor, a cancer that attacks the kidneys of children. With proper medical attention and care, Wilms Tumor can easily be treated.
But Sohana isn’t able to access that.
She’s had to endure the disease, watching it grow in her belly. Her clothes no longer properly fit. Her shirts don’t pull down over the swelling and her pants have to fit by elastic underneath.
Because her family doesn’t have the money to cover the expenses of medical bills that would cover the tests, diagnosis, and chemotherapy treatment of the cancer, she’s had to suffer from these debilitating conditions.
There’s no way to predict what Sohana’s future will look like, but we hope that she will be able to begin her road to recovery soon.
