22-year-old Alice Morgan had always known that she had eczema, a condition that causes a patient’s skin to become itchy and red as it becomes inflamed.
For Morgan, she thankfully didn’t have to deal with the condition too often. It was only three years ago, when she became an adult, that she began to experience more severe adult eczema breakouts.
In cold weather seasons, her condition got worse, transforming red skin to entire regions of her body covered in massive blisters.
At its worst, Morgan didn’t want to leave the house because she was so afraid of being mocked and noticed by strangers’ unkind gazes.
Morgan did research online to find creams, lotions, steroids, supplements, or other remedies that could potentially improve her skin’s appearance. None of them helped.
Even the doctor’s prescribed medication – steroids – made her condition worse. While her breakouts only began on her face and hands, the steroids made the blisters develop across her legs and entire body.
“I would get this feeling like my blood was bubbling with heat, then a bone, deep itch in my skin that I could never reach even when I gave in and scratched it,” Morgan explained. “It would get quite swollen, redden and I've have lots of red dots all over my skin - it was really hot and there wasn't much I could do to cool it down, apart from take Dead Sea salt baths as often as I could. After that my skin would ooze, that was pretty horrible.”
She remembered that some days, she’d wake up in the morning with blood covering her sheets and pajamas because she’d scratched herself so hard overnight.
After several months of trying different treatments, none of which did anything to improve her situation, Morgan was desperate for relief.
She decided to start a grain-free, raw vegan diet – one that only allowed her to eat raw fruits and vegetables – that suddenly transformed her skin.
“I’ve seen results since day one,” Morgan explained. “Although it’s a tough diet to follow it seems worth it.”
“I just hope I can maintain it,” she said.
