What Your Fingerprints Say About Your Personality

Fingerprints are nature's greatest calling cards, but we rarely think about how they might affect the way we act. Keep reading to find out what your fingerprints say about your personality!

Nothing in the world is quite as unique as an individual’s indistinguishable fingerprints. Even identical twins, who literally share the same DNA, have different fingerprints.

From the time you start growing in your mother’s womb until the day you die, your fingerprints will always remain your body’s calling card—whether you like it or not.

We all know our fingerprints could make or break a mystery, but very rarely do we think about how they affect our personality.

As it turns out, your fingerprints can actually say a lot about the type of person you are, especially when it comes to your dominant personality traits.

There are three basic types of fingerprints. Here’s what yours reveal about your personality!

The Loop

The loop is the most commonly seen type of fingerprint, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Most people who have loop fingerprints are pretty average in terms of intelligence and very easy to get along with. While they are typically happy and even tempered, individuals with loop fingerprints tend to gravitate toward following rather than leading.

The Whorl

While whorl fingerprints are less common than their loop counterparts, they’re not exactly rare to find. Those with whorl fingerprints tend to be very independent and dominant in their relationships with other people. Contrary to people with loops, individuals bearing whorl fingerprints tend to lead rather than follow.

What makes whorl fingerprints more complicated than loops is how much their placement matters.

Thumb Whorl: Highly intellectual and strong-willed.
Both Thumb Whorls: Extremely intelligent and organized, but likely controlling.

The Arch

An individual is far less likely to have arch fingerprints than loop or whorl prints. Those with arch fingerprints tend to be cautious, analytical, and very traditional. They definitely don’t like change. Because they’re so set in their strict routines and values, it can be pretty hard to get along with people who have arch fingerprints.
