Too Much Wine Last Night? Drink THIS In The Morning To Make Up For It

A new study has found that upping your coffee intake can help prevent liver damage caused by drinking alcohol. Read on to learn more!

It’s no secret that coffee is pretty much the only reason many of us get out of bed in the morning, but its magical powers don’t stop with a simple energy boost.

According to researchers at the University of Southampton, coffee can also reduce your risk of developing cirrhosis, extreme scarring, of the liver.

In other words, your morning cup of joe may help fight the negative effects of the bottle of wine you chugged last night.

Coffee truly is the gift that keeps on giving!

In this new study, the researchers combed through more than 2,000 studies and found that in a group of 432,133 test subjects, those who drank more coffee were less likely to develop the deadly liver condition.

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to down a whole pot of coffee the morning after you treat yourself to a glass or four of Pinot.

The study’s authors claim that upping your daily coffee intake by just two cups could reduce your chances of cirrhosis by as much as 44 percent.

While it’s impossible to pinpoint exactly why coffee is so powerful in counteracting the life-threatening liver condition, it probably has something to do with its anti-inflammatory properties.

“We now need robust clinical trials to investigate the wider benefits and harms of coffee so that doctors can make specific recommendations to patients,” Dr. O.J. Kennedy, the study’s lead author, wrote.
