How To Make Low-Calorie Spinach Lasagna

Dr. Lee Samatowic shares an easy, low-calorie spinach lasagna recipe that has all the taste without all the calories.

Lasagna, just saying the word brings forth images of thick flavorful tomato sauce, layers of ooey, gooey melted cheese, fresh Italian herbs and perfectly al dente noodles. In this video, Dr. Lee Samatowic shares an easy, low-calorie spinach lasagna recipe that has all the taste without all the calories.

Dr. Samatowic uses two kinds of cheese and vegetables along with herbs and pasta to make this amazing meatless dish.

However, it isn’t the lack of meat that makes the recipe healthier for you.

In fact, if you chose to use regular packaged processed ingredients, the same recipe would be decidedly less healthy and nutritious. So, how does Dr. Samatowic make this lasagna healthier? It’s simple. She uses low-fat and freshly grated cheeses, a combination of fresh and dried herbs, freshly chopped onions and garlic, fresh spinach and gluten-free lasagna noodles.

Even with a jar of prepared tomato sauce, this combination is much healthier than a traditional lasagna and using prepared sauce makes this dish come together even more quickly.

The secret to healthier recipes isn’t the ingredients themselves, but rather what’s in those ingredients.

Look for low or no fat, low or no sodium and gluten free versions of traditional foods, choose fresh produce whenever possible and use fresh herbs and spices. In the meantime, enjoy this low-calorie spinach lasagna recipe for healthy dining.
