Tell us a little about your background and how your journey to fitness began.

My fitness journey has been a life-long adventure. My mom signed me up for gymnastics and tennis when I was 3 and I never looked back. I played competitive tennis, volleyball, and basketball and
was a dancer. In college I took up running, yoga, and weight training. There has never been a time where I wasn’t doing something to stay active.

On your blog, you mention the ‘Triple Threat Cardio’ Workout. Share with us what that is and why you like to include that in your exercise routine.

There are days at the gym where I just get bored. My triple threat cardio workout serves a double purpose: it defeats gym boredom and keeps my body guessing. I love to mix things up and this is a great way to do it.

What is your favorite meal of the day and what are a couple of your go-to recipes for it?

That’s a hard one! I love breakfast foods so for the food I would say breakfast. I make an egg and egg white scramble with spinach and nutritional yeast almost everyday and share it with my toddler. Dinner is my all time favorite meal though because it is when my family gathers around the table and connects after a long day. We have been loving blackened fish tacos and soups lately!

What keeps you motivated to continue living a healthy lifestyle?

My one-year old daughter is my biggest motivation for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I want her growing up in a family that embraces healthy eating and staying active in hopes that she will adopt the same habits from the get-go. We go on family runs a lot and I can’t wait to go on more outdoors adventures as she gets older.

What does being “healthy” mean to you and why?

Healthy means balance to me. Life is too short to never eat cake. The key is not eating the whole cake. Finding a good balance between healthy habits and some indulgences is key. I refuse to feel guilty if I eat a cupcake or enjoy a good beer.
