Sometimes, writing can be an excellent form of therapy. It’s a great way to get organized, put all of your feelings down on paper, and reflect on what’s really bothering you. Whether it’s a journal entry, something scribbled in a notebook, or maybe even a letter, it’s extremely cathartic to put pen to paper when it comes to your emotions.

One mom received a particularly emotionally driven letter after asking her daughter to “tidy up her room”. Things only escalated from there.

“Ellie (9) refused to tidy her room, her mum got mad, Ellie declared she wanted to be sold on eBay (because she didn't want to be part of the family anymore),” The Unmumsy Mum explained. in the heat of the tidying argument her mum said that nobody would buy her, which resulted in this…”

On a crumbled piece of paper, she received these harsh words:

“Dear Mum,

Yes I agree I was mean to you and i did very wrong. I am very sorry but the fact I am poorley and wanted to rest has just flew out the window. I am sorry but the fact that you said no one would buy me really just shattered my heart. At least now I know how ashamed you are of me.

All my love,
Ellie”

Thankfully, the young girl’s “shattered heart” has since been mended, but that didn’t stop her persuasive letter from going viral.

The post has been liked more than 6,000 times, and hundreds of parents have commented on the letter, commending the girl’s creative writing skills.

“Wow, what a way to make you feel guilty. Id be impressed with the language she uses in the letter though, she's got the art of persuasive writing down” one person wrote.

The Unmumsy Mum’s post inspired other parents to share their funny stories of childhood letters and guilt trips. Scrolling through the comments, it’s clear that this mommy blogger is not the only one who has received a letter that has made her feel pretty guilty!

“Gosh I love reading all the parents stories.” one mother wrote. “Helps me to know my kids are normal, no matter how they are looked at when we are in public. Especially the youngest little troll. Keep it up!!! I get my sanity from here!! X”

Even though sometimes kids can drive you crazy, and even make you feel pretty guilty too, at the end of the day, shattered hearts can be mended and a lot of love can correct a heated argument. It’s great to know that there are honest mom bloggers out there who help other parents feel less alone and feel safe sharing their own stories.

It’s always funny to see how persuasive kids can be! What do you think of Ellie’s letter?
