Truth time: hangovers are the absolute worst. Maybe in our college years we handled them pretty well, but as we age, our bodies become less and less equipped to handle a night of heavy drinking. Of course, the reasonable thing to do would just be to not drink (or get drunk), but those crazy nights do happen, and we all know what it feels like to pay for it the next day.

Mother-of-two Sophie Lilley took to Instagram to show how she and her husband were forced to take on their hangovers. Hangovers are brutal for anyone, parent or not, but those of us who have little ones running around know that a terrible headache isn’t enough to stop our parenting duties.

There are a lot of funny mom bloggers out there who show how different mommies and daddies handle their parenting responsibilities after a long day. While parenting is no doubt a team, there are certain incidences where moms feel like they’re definitely doing more than their male counterpart.

Take Sophie’s Instagram picture, for instance. The hungover mom is grimacing next to a lasagna while her husband is passed out on the couch.

“Dad hangover vs. Mum hangover. He 'looked after the kids' / fell asleep five minutes into Minions, while I made a family sized Lasagna and cracked on with life.” she captioned the photo, complete with the hashtags: “#hangover #men #women#parenting #mother #mum #dad #life#instafood #lasagna #minions #seriously#norestforthewicked #mumlife#differences #family #netflix” Obviously “looking after the kids” didn’t really work out for this tuckered out dad.

“the lasagna took twice as long as I had to keep removing Evelyn from the freezer / work tops / kitchen table. All while he's snoring away peacefully” Sophie added in the comments, complete with a rolling eye emoji.

Not surprisingly, the comment section was flooded with agreements from moms who had all been through the same thing.

“Story of my life! lol every time he's "watching them" he's either asleep or doing something else” one Instagram user wrote.

“OMG, yes!!! I feel ya mumma!!” said another.

“So true! Ohhhh, how different daddies do things!” read another comment.

While we’re sure Sophie appreciated her husband and that he pulls his weight just as much, it sure is fun to poke fun at dads when they’re fast asleep. Unlike a “real job”, you can’t fake sick or take a mental health day when it comes to parenting, so even with that splitting headache, dinner still has to be made. We all have those days where we just want to sleep and put all of our responsibilities off until the next day, but if there are kids in the picture, that just isn’t an option!

Good thing Sophie fought through that hangover and was able to make her family a tasty lasagna. Can you relate to this mom’s Instagram picture?
