When you’re a child, losing baby teeth is a scary, but exciting time. While it can be quite weird to have teeth falling out of your mouth, the knowledge that if you put your baby tooth under your pillow and the Tooth Fairy will bring you some cash is pretty fun! Depending on how generous your Tooth Fairy was, you could probably get some change or maybe even a few bucks. If you were a particularly savvy kid, you may have even tried to get a little more cash from the mysterious fairy.
That’s exactly what one young boy tried to do after losing a tooth, so his parents came up with the perfect response.
Reddit user Thoughtfulprof’s friend’s son got a $1 after losing one of his baby teeth. The clever boy ended up trying to get a raise- he wanted $5 for his tooth instead of $1.
So, the young boy’s parents wrote a letter back from the Tooth Fairy, explaining why they couldn’t honor his request. Wait until you read this hilarious letter!
"My name is Dee Kay. My associate Tooth Fairy told me about your letter and I have been assigned to your case, #092208-5."
"We have removed our Plaques from the wall, going 3 years EWI (extraction without incident,) in order to focus and resolve this case. It looks as though we need to Brush Up on our extraction skills, and the going rate for teeth." the letter begins.
"One thing we can agree on and haven taken into consideration, it was very bold of you to ask for more money. Since all your teeth have been cavity free we decided to increase your TPO (tooth pay out) by $1 for future extractions. This is with the stipulation the tooth is cavity free. Should you place a cavity filled tooth under your pillow you will receive a bill to cover our costs of flight travel. We cannot take CFT's (cavity filled teeth) back with us."
"Our CTO (central tooth officer) S. Cary Gums would shut down the DDD (Department of Dental Disturbance) if we even attempted to bring a CFT back, and that would mean no TPO's for children anywhere. I know you wouldn't want to be the cause of that."
"Thank you for reading our response to your letter. I am filing this case as closed."
"Stay strong and brush on!"
"Dee Kay, Director of DDD."
A friend's son got $1 from the tooth fairy a couple days ago. He wrote her a letter asking to upgrade his $1 to $5. This was the tooth fairy's response. from funny
You can tell by the look on the young boy’s face in the pictures that he is not thrilled with the response. Adult Reddit users, however, found the letter perfect.
“Should have been:$5 exceeds the wholesale value of your teeth, we have found another supplier overseas, will reconsider at .50 per two teeth.” one user wrote.
