How many of you moms out there received a handwritten note or handmade card from your little ones? It truly is the best. While there are so many beautiful cards out there to buy, nothing beats something that your son or daughter made all on their own, just for you!
Typically, in these adorable cards and letters, your child will thank you for all that you’ve done for them, and how special of a parent you are. However, one mom received a Mother’s Day note that thanked her for something extremely special. When you read it, it might just bring you to tears.
The special Mother’s Day letter this mom received was actually two whole pages long! His long letter included thanking her for “the pizza I buy them sometimes, for playing baseball with him in the backyard. He even told me how pretty I look with makeup on.”
All of these adorable things melted the mom’s heart. Until she came across one sentence that stopped her in her tracks: “Thank you for adopting me. I love you so so much.”
This sweet, heartfelt, two page letter was written by this mother’s adopted son. Obviously this child feels like a member of the family, and he is so grateful so be apart of it. Even though having her adopted son in her life makes her happy each and every day, “to read him thanking me for adopting him melted my heart.”
Knowing that her son is happy and healthy in her home and feels like part of the family is all any adoptive parent could ever want. Being an adoptive parent is a major responsibility, and it is truly life changing for a child. Having the reassurance that they feel safe and loved is the most rewarding part of all.
Every family with adopted children is different. Some parents are very open and honest about the child’s adoption story, while others keep it quiet until the child is much older, so that they can make whatever decisions they want about contacting the biological parents, etc.
“Adoption is not a secret in our house, it's a celebration.” In this family, the young boy obviously knows that he was adopted, but he couldn’t be happier about it. The family is open about his story of how he joined their family, and they all choose to celebrate the circumstances that brought them together.
“Little does our son understand how much more adoption was a gift to us, rather than from us. I'll hold onto this letter for the rest of my life.” Even though this child is “so so” grateful that this woman adopted him, she believes that having him as her son is the biggest gift of them all. Now she has this beautiful letter to cherish forever!
What do you think of this adopted child’s sweet words to his mom?
