Can you believe that it’s already March? Well, if you had the chance to follow the astonishing storm caused by American politics last year, you’d think that the year of 2017 would be at the very least dragging. The Inauguration was held, the Grammys had already given its top awards to not Beyoncé, and the Oscars managed not to be completely racist this year.

Anyway, it’s March! That means it’s time to prepare for St. Patrick’s Day, which also means that Shamrock Shakes are now available at McDonalds. Yes, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but in Spring. The Shamrock Shake’s minty sugary flavor may not have any direct correlation with the Irish culture, but it’s green so let’s just reach for it.

For this year, McDonald’s offers four variations of the Shamrock Shake. We’re living in a brave new world. People could definitely use a lot of sweetness in their bodies. Since Shamrock Shakes are just sinfully delicious, it’s an effective, although not recommended, way to indulge.

The four new variations are: Chocolate Shamrock Shake, Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappe, Shamrock Mocha, and Shamrock Hot Chocolate. Aside from these, customers can also order a Shamrock Shake and Chocolate Shamrock Shake hybrid.

Of course, for every delicious drink lies a devilish ingredient. There’s a reason why not one of us will ever know what the secret ingredient of Coca-Cola is. The Shamrock Shake has 101 grams of sugar. There you go, folks. You were so high on sucrose, you didn’t even realize you were just slurping through sugar and rubbing your gums.

According to Mic, the amount of sugar in one Shamrock Shake is the equivalent of either five Snickers bars, almost a whole pint of Half-Baked Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, or 22 Oreo cookies.

McDonald’s describes the Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappe as "an irresistible blend of coffee and chocolate chips, topped with green sprinkles, whipped topping and a tantalizing drizzle of Chocolaty Syrup."

One hundred and one grams of sugar is four times the amount of the daily recommended sugar intake. Mic obtained the nutrition facts the original Shamrock Shake and it has eighty grams of sugar with 580 calories to intimidate even a burger from Smash Burger.

To be fair, McDonald’s is not really known for being healthy. But their food is always good. There’s no way that I can resist their salty, hot, and delicious French fries. However, I might have to pass on the Shamrock Shake.
