Most of the infamous Dr. Pimple Popper’s videos share at least one thing in common: They depict a long, oozing line of pus being pushed out of a person’s cyst.
In Dr. Pimple Popper’s latest video, however, she shows something new – something no one ever expected to happen during the cyst removal process.
The male patient in this video goes to see Dr. Sandra Lee (Dr. Pimple Popper’s legal identity) to get a large cyst on his scalp removed. The growth has been there for several years, its presence hidden at least a little bit, thanks to its location underneath the man’s hair.
This growth is called a pilar cyst, “a trichilemmal cyst, an isthumus-catagen cyst,” Dr. Pimple Popper explains in the video. It “looks identical on examination to the more common epidermoid cyst, except that 90% of them occur on the scalp.
“They tend to be more mobile and firmer than epidermoid cysts, and are derived from a different part of the hair follicle/skin,” she says.
As she begins to cut into the man’s head, she continues by suggesting that this type of cyst may even be genetic, that multiple members of the family may be plagued with this same problem.
Once Dr. Pimple Popper places pressure on the opened cyst, the pus slowly eases itself out of the cut – and then suddenly pops out in the shape of a marble that actually even falls to the floor.
Everyone is stunned, a little repulsed, but also amused.
