Onasi Olio-Rojas, 20, crashed a Honda Civic into a garbage truck while driving at approximately 114 mph on November 30, 2016.
To make matters worse, Olio-Rojas was driving on a suspended license – and supposedly live streaming the entire incident.
The live stream footage began when Olio-Rojas was still driving locally, at around 30 mph. The video follows him as he turns onto a highway on-ramp and begins to increase his speed.
During this acceleration, Olio-Rojas switches the camera between his own face and a shot of the road that also features a glimpse of his speedometer. At this angle, you can also see other drivers on the road quickly disappear out of sight, or even slow and move to avoid Olio-Rojas’ reckless driving.
It was about 11:25 a.m., approximately three minutes after Olio-Rojas the life stream began, that he crashed into a garbage truck as it merged onto the highway from the entrance ramp. His car then ricocheted off the truck and into the highway barrier.
Olio-Rojas was immediately admitted to the hospital. He suffers from serious injuries, but doctors confirm that his condition is stable and “fair.”
Once the man is well enough to be discharged, police will arraign him.
