She Suffers A Terrible Burn While Cooking In The Kitchen, But Is Actually Incredibly Grateful.

New mother Molly Landis was incredibly grateful that her four-week-old daughter was finally beginning to settle down and sleep on her own. Though she loved carrying her daughter in her carrier, against her chest, Landis was also relieved when her daughter slowly began to outgrow the need. Here’s why.

Ever since Molly Landis gave birth to her daughter four weeks ago, she’s absolutely adored carrying her baby girl around in her wrap carrier with her, wherever she went.

This was, as many mothers know, a very easy way to keep hands free to cook, clean, or even drink water — all while still giving plenty of attention to her daughter.

Just earlier this week, Landis’ daughter fell asleep for the first time while strapped into the wrap carrier, allowing Landis to lay her daughter down into her own bed.

Though Landis missed the weight of her daughter’s head against her chest, it was actually a huge blessing in disguise.

That night, as Landis was cooking dinner, her stove burner exploded in a burst of flame. Heat and fire rushed at Landis’ chest, neck, and face, leaving open wounds and burns – right where Landis’ daughter’s head would have been, had she been awake.

In spite of Landis’ pain, she couldn’t have been more grateful to have gotten the injury. She realized only then that she much preferred her enduring injuries – rather than have anything happen to her daughter. That night, it was a major wakeup call.

“The point of my message is to pleaseeeee be cautious of the activities we do while wearing our babies!” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“Since this happened I have had so many moms say "omg, I do that all the time" .. we never think it could happen to us and I never thought it would happen to me. So grateful she wasn't near the explosion,” she finished.
