This Woman's Before-And-After Photos Are Going Viral For An Unexpected Reason

It’s common to find before-and-after photos of people who’ve lost an incredible amount of weight, turned their lives around, and are now fitness gurus online. Megan Jayne Crabbe, however, decided to take an alternative route.

Before-and-after transformation photos are commonplace on the Internet. People – whether they’re fitness instructors, friends, or even strangers – love to motivate each other to achieve their weight, fitness, and physical health goals online.

Most often, the photos show side-by-side images of a person looking more “in shape,” often with a toned body and muscles, juxtaposed with a version of themselves from before they’d begun working out.

For one Instagrammer, Megan Jayne Crabbe, however, this traditional before-and-after photo wasn’t something she wanted to share.

As Crabbe has shared in numerous posts on her Instagram, she’d suffered with anorexia, binge eating, and body positivity for years.

It’s taken her an incredibly long time to develop confidence and feel secure about her body, but her remarkable before-and-after photo shows just how much healthier and happier she is now.

Rather than share a traditional transformation photo, Crabbe revealed to her followers the difference between her when she was underweight to her when she felt at ease with her body – even though it might have “extra jiggle.”

Crabbe’s transformation, as she writes in the caption, was a life or death situation. She had been so severely underweight that she was forced to either gain weight – or die.

Rather than let this consume her with fear, Crabbe finally taught herself how to love her body – even as she was gaining weight.

Her story and message are incredibly inspiring: “There’s a whole life for you to gain when you stop letting those numbers dictate your worth.”
