For years, Sharice suffered from bullying and immense body insecurity because of her uneven breast sizes. Because of her medical condition, gigantomastia, which results in excessive growth in the breasts, her breasts had always been different sizes. By the time they finished growing in, though her right breast was twice the size of her left breast.
Now 24, Sharice finally decided to see a doctor to get her medical problem fixed.
At Sharice’s advice appointment, her doctors admitted to her that her case of uneven breasts was the worst case they’d seen. A breast that hangs lower than 28 centimeters is considered “droopy.”
Both of Sharice’s breasts hung past this point; her left breast hung at 34 centimeters and her right was 40.
The doctors were willing to try fixing Sharice’s condition through breast reduction surgery, but they warned Sharice that the procedure wouldn’t be straightforward.
Generally, breast reduction surgeries are done after failed breast implant procedures that resulted in too large of breasts. Because Sharice’s procedure would be performed due to her medical condition, her doctors worried about what they would remove her from her overly large breasts.
It was simple to remove implants, but reducing Sharice’s breasts meant removing living tissue and blood vessels, which would make the procedure far riskier.
Before preforming the procedure, one of her doctors acknowledged, "Sharice really has all the factors you don't want to have when you are doing breast reduction and lift surgery. There ultimately may not be enough blood supply to keep her remaining breasts alive."
Thankfully, the breast reduction surgery proceeded without hitch.
Both of Sharice’s breasts have been reduced and evened out. Sharice couldn’t be more excited with her new appearance. “This is something I’ve wanted for so long…it’s kind of life-changing.”
