In Jonesboro, Arkansas, mother Lory Beth Snyder admitted her family, including herself and her four-month-old daughter, to the hospital after her daughter began to exhibit signs of bleeding.

Snyder stayed at the hospital with her daughter, and decided to take a quick nap to rest. When Snyder woke, however, her daughter was nowhere to be found.

The panic settled in. Snyder immediately began to search for her daughter, finding her a few minutes later in the arms of another female patient, in another hospital room. The other woman was holding Snyder’s daughter, “with a room full of six or seven nurses just laughing and playing with her” and Snyder’s child.

As Snyder watched, she couldn’t help but notice that her daughter’s IV pole had also been moved to this other female patient’s room, and several items from Snyder’s diaper bag were scattered throughout the space.

She went to take her child from the other woman’s arms, but recalled that the other woman just kept telling her that ought to “just go rest.”

But Snyder persisted, gathering up her daughter and all of their belongings, to return to their original room.

According to Snyder, the other patient followed them and kept saying Snyder should be resting, allow the child to stay with her. The hospital nurses finally intervened, bringing the other patient back to her own room.

Now, Snyder has reported this incident to the police and hoping that their investigations will reveal more about what happened to her daughter that day.

“You do not enter a room and take a child that does not belong to you,” Snyder explained, “especially from a person you don’t know. I want some answers, and I don’t feel like I’m getting them from that hospital.

“That hospital’s responsibility is to care for their patients and make sure that they are safe and they are well, and that doesn’t seem to be what’s going on,” Snyder finished.

The hospital CEO reassures Snyder that investigations are underway, and the Jonesboro police are still very much on the case.
