Instagram user and mother-to-be, Saranlux “Wah” Wunjina, has taken the internet by storm with her yoga practice. The 37-year-old yogi is 38 weeks pregnant and 25 pounds heavier than normal, but she’s continued to practice yoga throughout her pregnancy (minus the first 12 weeks).
Wah has been posting photos and videos of her yoga practice and poses on Instagram for quite a while now. But it was only after she posted her latest video that she began to receive overwhelming attention online.
It wasn’t just that Wah was pregnant; there’s something particularly beautiful in this video that’s not present in the rest.
Yoga is a physical practice that focuses heavily on a person’s breathing. In Wah’s video, you can actually see her breath flowing through her pregnant belly.
Wah believes there are many benefits to prenatal yoga, and hopes that the strength she has built from her dedicated practice will help her recover more quickly from childbirth.
Although much of this internet attention has been positive, Wah admitted that some people – including her own mom – have criticized her for sharing her body so publicly and for potentially putting her child in danger.
Wah, however, remained placid in the face of these detractors. “It’s my personal practice,” she said, even though she did concede that she’d adjusted her practice to tend to her baby’s needs first. Her baby’s safety was, and is, her top priority.
