A woman in the UK lost nearly 30 pounds by tricking her body into thinking she had a gastric band through hypnosis.
49-year-old Beverley Davies, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, had been a yo-yo dieter her entire life, but nothing seemed to stick.
It wasn’t until Davies tried self-hypnosis that she finally started to see real results.
“I decided to try self-hypnosis when I felt like I'd gained some weight and was quite unfit,” the yoga instructor said, according to The Daily Mail. “The sessions have the same effect as a gastric band - afterwards I only have three or four mouthfuls of food before feeling full.”
Davies’ daily hypnosis sessions typically last for about 10 minutes, followed by around 20 minutes of yoga.
“When I hypnotise myself I simply zone out by breathing deeply and allowing all of my muscles to relax,” she said. “After my hypnosis I feel very positive and in control, it's like I have a whole different relationship with food. I still enjoy it, I just don't need as much.”
In the last three months alone, Davies has managed to slim down from a size 14 to a size 10, thanks to her self-hypnosis sessions.
Now Davies believes self-hypnosis is the key to achieving your goals, especially given her sudden weight loss.
“I got into hypnosis when I was a teenager as became very interested in the subconscious and how it affects our lives,” she said. “For self-hypnosis you have to be very relaxed, it's the same as meditation but instead of clearing your mind you think of the things you want to achieve.”
