RECALL On GNP Chicken Due To Contamination

GNP just issued a recall on some of their chicken products, fearing that they’ve been contaminated with dangerous substances. Read on for the details…

The GNP company just recalled over 55,000 pounds of its chicken products, fearing that they have been contaminated by sand and black soil.

According to the company, the contamination was potentially caused by an employee who had added “extraneous materials” to the chicken. GNP reassures the public that this is an “isolated product tampering incident.” The employee has since been fired and is now being investigated by law enforcement.

GNP has recalled their 4-pound Just BARE Whole Chicken product with the UPC Code 024105594057. The production date ranges between June 6 and June 9, and is stamped with a “Use or Freeze By” date of June 26, 2016.

Customers can either dispose of the product, or return it to the store from which it was purchased.

The USDA Food Safety & Inspection Services also reported the GNP recalled other bulk and custom item products, but has not released a list of these items because they are not available for purchase by the public.
