A teen born with cerebral palsy went above and beyond to successfully walk for the very first time—at his very own high school graduation!

When Okmulgee High School senior Micah McDade promised his friends and family that he would walk across the stage to accept his diploma, he meant it.

Although Micah has spent practically his entire life in physical therapy to be able to walk, he’d been training in secret to make it happen in time for graduation.

Nobody in Micah’s class had ever seen him out of his chair before, so everybody was in for a huge surprise when he stood up and walked across the stage to grab his diploma.

According to the Okmulgee News Network, Micah wheeled himself up to the stage and used a walker to help him get to his feet.

When he started moving across the stage on his own, the entire crowd went absolutely wild with proud cheers.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been doing this a long time,” the announcer said, as he helped Micah back into his chair. “That is the best ever!”

Micah’s parents, Mark and Anisa McDade, said there was no way they could possibly be any prouder of their amazing son.

See the incredible moment Micah walked for the very first time in the video below now!
