If you love snacking on delicious pistachios, you might want to take a second glance at your bag: it might contain salmonella!

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), pistachios produced by Wonderful Pistachios have been linked to a multistate salmonella outbreak and are now being recalled.

So far, there have been 11 reported cases of salmonella in nine different states, with two hospitalizations but no deaths.

The CDC statement says cases have been reported in: Washington, Arizona, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Connecticut, Virginia, Georgia, and Alabama.

As the voluntary recall states, the possibly tainted pistachios have been sold under brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms, and Trader Joe's; they were sold in the U.S. and Canada.

It’s important to note that the company is only recalling "a limited number of flavors and sizes of in-shell and shelled pistachios because they may be contaminated with the bacteria,” according to ABC News.
