A woman claims to have kept a McDonald’s Happy Meal for a whopping six years to prove a point about how many chemicals the fast food chain uses in its products.
Jennifer Lovdahl, a mother from Alaska, posted a photo of her 6-year-old Happy Meal on Facebook over the weekend.
“It’s been 6 years since I bought this ‘Happy Meal’ at McDonald’s. It’s been sitting at our office this whole time,” she wrote.
Amazingly enough, the photo of the Happy Meal that Lovdahl posted looks like it hasn’t changed one bit since it was supposedly bought in 2010.
While the Happy Meal, which includes four chicken nuggets and fries, seems slightly lighter in color, nothing else looks even remotely abnormal about the food.
“[It] has not rotted, moulded, or decomposed at all!!! It smells only of cardboard. We did this experiment to show our patients how unhealthy this ‘food’ is. Especially for our growing children!!” Lovdahl continued her post.
Although it has not actually been confirmed that this is, in fact, a 6-year-old Happy Meal, the receipt on the box does read January 8, 2010.
“There are so many chemicals in this food! Choose real food! Apples, bananas, carrots, celery….those are real fast food,” Lovdahl insists.
