This unusual trick seems like it would just crack the egg, but what it really does is genius!

Some people say that making eggs is more of an art form because of how delicate they can be. It’s easier than you think to mess up eggs, especially when trying to hard boil them.

The worst thing that can happen, aside from over cooking the eggs, is when the shells are impossible to get off.

This is a common frustration while hard boiling, and there are a few different techniques people do to try and avoid this.

However, one of the methods easily beats out the rest because it’s foolproof.

The best way to get easy-peel hard boiled eggs is by using a pushpin.

This little secret was given by the people at Windy’s Sukiyaki, and we’re so glad they shared it.

Start by setting the eggs out until they reach room temperature.

Then, it is time to grab the pushpin. It might seem strange to have such a sharp object near something you normally don’t want to crack, but relax and watch the magic happen.

Carefully poke the pushpin into the wider, rounded end of the egg. You might be freaking out a little bit, but it’s okay -- as long as you don’t crack the egg!

When you take the pin out, there should be a cute little hole, just like the ones all over your walls!

Then, put a pot of water on the stove. Once it starts boiling, gently drop the eggs in.

When the water reaches a boil again, turn the heat off, put the lid on, and let the eggs sit in the hot bath for no 6 to 10 minutes, depending on how cooked you want them.

After draining the water, immediately transfer the eggs to an iced water bath to stop the cooking process.

Next, crack the egg against a surface gently as you would if it were raw. The shell should crack and peel off in almost one piece!
