Angela Crickmore never felt unattractive at any weight, not even at her heaviest, but she knew that her health was at risk if she didn’t start adopting a better lifestyle soon.

According to The Daily Mail, at five-foot-one, Crickmore realized her weight was beginning to feel uncontrollable once she hit 180 pounds.

When she was still in her 20s, Crickmore would work, cook, eat, watch TV, and go to bed—no exercise.

“I felt beautiful. My husband thought I was beautiful. But the outside pressure from friends and family made me very self-conscious,” she explained.

Crickmore’s health journey began when a friend told her about a diet that required eating a meal every three hours.

Finally, she decided to try the same diet—and got hooked fast.

As the weight started melting off her body, Crickmore decided that she also wanted to add some exercise into the mix.

At first, she would walk around a park while her husband, who wasn’t exactly the picture of health, waited in the car.

“I wanted to jog, but because I was so fat I had to walk first. I walked every, day rain or shine, for an hour, and then jog as I became lighter,” Crickmore recalled.

It didn’t take long before the dedicated wife and mother was 70 pounds lighter; but her husband wasn’t quite as excited.

“The new me felt great, active and wanting more out of life,” Crickmore said. “I wanted to hike, camp, travel, meet people. I became so active that I even stopped watching TV.”

After nine years of marriage, Crickmore realized that her newfound healthy habits had changed her—but not her husband.

Although her marriage is now over, Crickmore hopes that her new body is the start of the next chapter.

“I want to help people,” she said, adding that she plans to become a fitness coach. “It makes me feel good.”
