A young design consultant in London was left with painful cystic acne all over her face after paying more than $1,700 for a “rejuvenating” chemical peel.

26-year-old Georgie Aves was blessed with a gorgeous complexion, but she thought a quick laser treatment might freshen up her skin.

Last May, she made her first consultation appointment with Harley Street Skin Clinic, where a doctor recommended a C02 laser treatment.

In just three 20-minute sessions, the top layer of Aves’ skin would be peeled off, revealing the glowing complexion underneath.

Although she was warned that some minor scabbing would occur after the first session, Aves knew something was very wrong when she began developing painful cysts all over her face.

“I tried to convince myself it was just part of the procedure, but when cysts started forming I really began to worry,” Aves told The Daily Mail. “It just began to get aggressively worst. I couldn't believe what was happening. I could barely look in the mirror. It hurt to touch, it was so painful.”

After calling the clinic, Aves was prescribed antibiotics to clear up the reaction, but her acne continued to get worse.

Despite her doctor’s suggestions, Aves ended up going through with a delayed second session, which left her in severe pain once again.

“I complained straight away. Tears were running down my face and about 10 minutes in I asked him to stop. He continued telling me to ‘bear with it,’” she explained.

While the clinic denies any fault in her negative reaction to the laser treatment, Aves hopes that by speaking out she can warn other young women to avoid messing with their skin.

“I regret having the treatment and messing with my face. It will never be the same again and now that is something I have to see through my reflection every day,” she said.
