38-year-old Georgina Condon is a self-identified vampire who has had a taste for human blood ever since she was a child growing up in Australia.
She would pick her scabs, as most children do, and then suck her own blood (unlike most children). She kept coming back to blood drinking because she enjoyed blood’s metallic taste.
Condon is a makeup artist by day and has been covering her face with white talcum powder and wearing black clothing for most of her life.
She says that she tried to keep her "active vampirism a secret as friends called her 'weird.'"
However, she was surprised when she met men at goth clubs and vampire balls who were “turned on” by the fact that she identified as a “vampire.”
It was at one of these gatherings that she met her current boyfriend (and blood donor), Zameal. The couple has been dating for two years.
She tells Daily Mail, “I met him at a Bloodlust Ball in Brisbane, which is like our Christmas party where we dress to the nines in ball gowns and costumes.”
Condon says she does NOT use her fangs to break his skin, instead she uses a piece of metal or other small tool to draw blood. Having done this for years, Condon claims to be an expert at dressing wounds.
"It's not about the gore, it can be a very sensual thing," she says.
Condon drinks Zameal’s blood directly from his wound every week.
The unorthodox couple are exclusive. If Cordon were to drink the blood of another donor, it would be considered cheating.
"He sacrifices to give me what I want from time to time," Condon tells Daily Mail. "He believes in monogamy so it's a form of intimacy."
Condon has linked her love of drinking blood to her love for blood to her blood condition called thalassemia.
“I'm not saying that all people who have this want to drink blood, but I suffer from anemia and a lack of iron, so in a sense there is a craving there,” she says.
"There is a science to it," she said. "It's like when you're hanging for a really good red steak."
I’m not exactly sure drinking human blood is the same as eating a rare steak, but to each their own I guess…
