Chocolate chip cookies are timeless, tasty, and have endless varieties of texture and composition.
And there’s nothing more satisfying than making chocolate cookies from scratch.
But how do you make the perfect chocolate chip cookie?
There are a variety of ways. It really depends on what cookie you want.
If you want big, gooey cookies, add more flour.
If you want them darker in color, you can add more butter or brown sugar.
If you want dough that makes really good looking cookies, chill them for 24 hours.
If you freeze the dough for half an hour, you’ll have thicker cookies. If it’s chewiness you’re after, try adding more brown sugar and plain flour.
If you melt your butter, you’ll have cookies that don’t rise as much. Baking soda and baking powder provide two entirely different effects.
The best thing to do is just tinker with a recipe you like, and see what you can make of it. Before you know it, you may have a signature cookie recipe of your own.
