He was never motivated to do anything about it, until THIS happened...

It’s not just moms who can bounce back from their post-baby body. It’s dads, too.

Aaron Monckton was almost 440 pounds when he felt a tightening pain in his chest. It was April 2014 then.

His family has a history of heart problems, and he said that was the “light bulb moment” when he knew something had to change.

‘”I always sort of knew I had to do something but going to the doctor and thinking that was something really wrong with my heart made me really wake up,” he told Daily Mail.

The thought of his three-year-old daughter made him pause, too.

“I thought about Hanna and not being here for her, and realized I really want to be able to hang around to annoy the buggery out of her for as long as possible.”

He knows she can’t understand right now the kind of journey he went through, but he hopes for a better life for her.

“I just hope she never has to go through what I did as a kid, getting picked on for my weight.”

As of now, he’s lost over 200 pounds.

He started off by taking the weight loss pill Duromine. But after a couple of weeks, he wasn’t seeing results.

So he took another look at his life, and decided to make some bigger changes.

“Drinking was one of my big problems, that and not eating anything during the day. I would bust my butt and come home starving, then I would have a massive plate of veggies, pasta, potatoes, and meat before washing it down with one to a dozen beers.”

He called it “the worst thing you can possibly do.”

He shaped up his diet, with the help of his partner, who’s lost around 100 pounds herself. They joined Weight Watchers together, and Aaron said that “Once we both got on board it just started to go berserk.”

He also trains at the gym three times a week, and goes for a run or bike ride every other day.

But he still enjoys his favorite foods, now in moderation.

Not only that, but now he’s fulfilling his dream of joining the military. “I started to gradually put on more and more weight and lost sight of my dream, but once I started training I thought I could have a go at that again,” he said.
