3 Scientific Reasons To Sleep Naked Tonight

Sleeping in the buff has way more benefits than you think. Here are just a few.

Sleeping naked is something that not many Americans think about doing. In fact, only eight percent of Americans sleep nude.

Of course, there are a lot of reasons for this.

It could be a cultural thing, or just climate differences across the nation.

Whatever it is, it may be time for some of us to start picking up the slack. Sleeping naked is totally harmless, and it may even be beneficial.

There are some real benefits to sleeping naked, and if you can get past exposing your backside to your sheets, these benefits may be really worth it.

  1. You’ll lose weight. Your body naturally cools off at night, allowing you to sleep well and for your cortisol levels to lower. If you get too hot during the night, your body will produce more cortisol. The bad news? Cortisol controls stress and appetite. So staying cool is essential if you want to keep those levels low, and if you do, you’re less likely to stress eat.
  2. You’re less likely to have to shower in the morning. Showering in the morning screws with your sleep cycle, but it’s a necessity if you’re someone who always gets hot in their sleep. Without any clothes on, your body doesn’t produce as much sweat, and you don’t have to wake up looking like you just jogged.
  3. You’ll sleep better. Wearing pajamas to bed could mess with your Circadian Rhythm, which is already trying to regulate your body’s temperature for the best possible sleep. Ditching your PJs can help your body do its thing, and you’re less likely to wake up in the middle of the night.
