Do you ever wonder how you can work off a bunch more calories in your day to day life?
Luckily, a lot of things you do on a regular basis can burn off tons of calories without even putting in that much more effort into them!
If you’re looking to get in a workout that doesn’t feel like one, maybe it’s time to do one of these activities again:
- Stand up. This one is probably the easiest to do right now, since all it requires you to do is get out of your chair. Sitting for long periods of time is shown to be bad for you, so stand up and do some work instead of sitting and doing it. Your body will have to support itself, which burns calories.
- Drink more water. This is a great way to get yourself standing more often. Not only does drinking more water make you less likely to get bloated, but it also means you’re getting up to use the restroom more often, which you can totally add to the step counter!
- Go for a noontime walk. If you have an hour for lunch, don’t go out every day. Bring your lunch, eat it at your desk, and spend the rest of the time on an afternoon walk. This will improve your circulation and add to your cardio total before you know it.
- Pace while you chat. If you’re on the phone, try walking around while you have your conversation. It’s just one more opportunity not to sit! And you’ll be so involved in your conversation that you’ll walk off more calories than you realize. ##MN_RESP##
- Do some housework. Cleaning your bathroom, kitchen, or car can do double duty work—your house gets clean, and you get fit. Using that elbow grease to get rid of dust and grime can really torch calories!
- Go shopping. Whether you’re walking on a treadmill, outside, or in the mall, it’s still walking. So if you need to get out and get those few extra things you’ve been putting off, now is the time. And the more the better—lugging around heavy bags will get your strength training in, too.
