The 5 Healthiest Summer Snacks To Make When You're Short On Time

You'd rather be outside in the sun than inside the kitchen this summer, which is why it's important to have a few easy go-to snacks lined up. Read on for the best summer snack recipes to try this weekend!

Nobody likes to be stuck inside the kitchen when the weather is so beautiful outside, which is why it’s so important to find simple snacks to make in the summer.

That’s why health and fitness blogger Caroline Bakker has put together some of her easiest recipes for delicious, healthy summer snacks.

All of these contain whole fruits or veggies, so you don’t need to worry about sacrificing your diet for a tasty snack.

Here are 5 easy snacks to make when you’re short on time:

  1. Mini Zucchini Pizzas: Just slice a zucchini, sprinkle low-fat cheese on each piece, top with your meat of choice (ham, turkey, salami), add a few olives, and pop them into the oven until the cheese melts. These take just a few minutes to make, plus they’re extremely low in calories!
  2. The New Cucumber Sandwiches: Forget the bread and cream cheese! You can make a healthier cucumber sandwich by filling sliced cucumbers with meats and low-fat cheese or ricotta. These light snacks are perfect for hot days outside.
  3. Citrus Salad with Mint and Honey: This is probably the easiest snack you’ll ever make. Just slice an orange and a grapefruit, top them with some fresh mint leaves, and drizzle a little honey to add a hint of sweetness. That’s it!
  4. Frozen Strawberry Snack: When it’s this hot out, chocolate covered strawberries might not actually sound all that appetizing. Yogurt covered strawberries, on the other hand, are just sweet enough to satisfy your cravings, while still being light. Simply dip your strawberries into some low-fat yogurt and place them in the freezer.  ##MN_RESP##
  5. Banana Ice Lollies: You’ll need a blender and some ice pop holders for this summer favorite. You’ll never want another store-bought popsicle again after you try these. After combining bananas, low-fat yogurt, and low-fat coconut milk in a blender, poor the creamy mixture into your ice pop holders, and place them in the freezer. If you want to mix up the recipe, you can add some cinnamon, vanilla essence, or rose water for fun.

Which one of these snacks is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
