Everyone wants to live as long as possible, but you also want to make sure that you live a healthy life free of complications. You are probably aware of some of the habits that need to be avoided such as smoking and eating too much junk food. Fortunately, there are plenty of habits that can help you live a longer and much more enjoyable life.
1. Eat Plenty of Fruits and Veggies
It is recommended that you eat at least three servings of fruits and vegetables a day in order to ward off any unwanted health complications. Fruits and vegetables are filled with plenty of vital vitamins and minerals that can reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 76%. They are also great for fighting off wrinkles so that you look and feel great!
2. Get Plenty of Exercise
You do not have to be an Olympic athlete to enjoy the benefits of regular exercise. Walking just 30 minutes every day can significantly lower your risk of heart problems. Studies have even shown that regularly engaging in high-intensity exercise like running can increase your life up to four years.
3. Avoid Overeating
Researchers have found that eating less may help slow down the aging process because consuming fewer calories decreases the production of T3, which is a thyroid hormone that slows down metabolism and increases signs of aging.
4. Have Sex
As if you needed an excuse to get busy more often? Studies have shown that having sex at least two to three times a week can add as much as three years to your life. Regular, dependable sex has been shown to protect the heart, lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality and boost the immune system.

5. Limit TV Watching
Spending 30 minutes in front of the TV to watch your favorite show is fine, but studies have found that individuals who watch more than four hours of television each day are more likely to die prematurely than those who only watch two hours or fewer.
6. Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure
A little time in the sun is great for getting your daily dose of Vitamin D, but too much can increase your risk of skin cancer. Too much sun can also create fine lines and wrinkles around your face, making you look older than you actually are. If you are going to be in the sun for a while, apply sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher. Make sure to apply it all over your body and not just your face.
There are numerous ways you can live a longer, healthier life. By following some basic practices, you will be able to enjoy your life to the fullest.
